Andrographis Extract Powder
Andrographis extract powder produces from Andrographis paniculata. It is widely distributed throughout tropical Asian countries. The leaf and underground stem are used to make medicine. The therapeutic value of Andrographis is due to its mechanism of action by enzyme induction. It is used to treat gastro intestinal tract, upper respiratory infections, fever, herpes, sore throat, hepatitis and a variety of other chronic and infectious diseases.
The diterpene lactone andrographolide was first isolated as a major constituent of Andrographis paniculata. Other constituents of the plant include various flavonoids.
Mechanism of action for andrographis extract powder
1. Helps with the common cold and upper respiratory infections : Andrographis is frequently used for preventing and treating the common cold, flu (influenza) and sinus infections. Its anti-bacterial, antifungal, and antiviral properties.
2. Increase immune function : Andrographis is also said to act as a natural immune-booster. The potential for use of andrographolide as an anticancer agent as well as for its immune and anti-inflammatory.
