Lingzhi mushrooms contain various groups of important compounds such as proteins, triterpenes, and polysaccharides. Each type of compound provides high nutritional value and has therapeutic properties for treating various diseases. The key components in Lingzhi mushrooms include

• Polysaccharides : These are a type of complex carbohydrate that is not digested in the stomach but instead is absorbed in the small intestine. They have the ability to stimulate the immune system and possess anti-cancer properties. In terms of immune function, the polysaccharides in Lingzhi mushroom extract can stimulate both cell-mediated immunity (such as white blood cells known as T lymphocytes or T cells) and antibody or humoral immunity, including plasma cells, antibodies or immunoglobulins, and memory cells. Polysaccharides can be subdivided into groups such as
  • Ganoderans A and B: These help reduce blood sugar levels.
  • Semi-cellulose substances: These help reduce the risk of cancer.
  • Beta-D-glucans: These stimulate the activity of white blood cells by activating macrophages. Normally, macrophages are dormant and widespread throughout the body. When stimulated by polysaccharides and germanium, macrophages will emerge to capture foreign substances and produce various types of proteins called cytokines.
